Six Sigma Black Belt Training Course

A practical and interactive 16 day Six Sigma Black Belt training course, split over 4 separate 4 day weeks (one month gap between each week) for staff looking to manage process improvement projects within their organisation. The course has been developed after the successful implementation of Six Sigma DMAIC projects, where Black Belts were utilised to:

  • Identify improvement opportunities within the business that required a focused, team based problem solving approach
  • Define, lead and manage projects with clearly defined scope, objectives and deliverables
  • Coach and mentor Managers & Green Belts on Six Sigma philosophies, tools and techniques
  • Deliver financially audited, bottom line cost savings and profit growth

The Aster Black Belt training course is based around the provision of a full Six Sigma “Toolkit” and the appropriate selection and application of the right tool to solve a specific business / process issue. Delegates will be required to bring with them a project that they have been assigned within their organisation. They will then apply the Six Sigma tools and techniques learned within each week to their own project, back in the workplace, prior to the next week’s session.

What will you learn?

At the conclusion of the Six Sigma Black Belt training course each delegate will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamental concepts behind Six Sigma and the different roles people play in the successful delivery of project solutions
  • Develop and articulate the business case for DMAIC projects through the use of project charters
  • Support the organisation in validation of project charters and prioritisation of the economic added value of projects in delivering business plan objectives
  • Plan, manage & lead and successfully “close-out” Six Sigma DMAIC projects
  • Utilise a comprehensive statistical “toolbox” to analyse data and draw accurate conclusions to drive effective decision making
  • Analyse data to identify and validate process performance issues, prioritise resource requirements to deliver high value solutions to the business and validate solution effectiveness in achieving project deliverables
  • Coach and mentor Green Belts in the delivery of key outputs at each of the 5 DMAIC phases
  • Confidently present findings to project sponsors and key project stakeholders at “gateway reviews” at the end of each of the 5 DMAIC phases
  • Articulate project benefits in terms of cost savings, resource deployment, capacity improvements and revenue / profit growth
  • Manage relationships between the project team, key stakeholders, project sponsors and “process owners” to ensure sustainability of solutions over the long term
  • Sustain and monitor improvements through effective financial benefits reporting
