This two day Kaizen training course focuses on both the mechanics of generating continuous improvement activities together with a proven management approach to ensure the right culture is created to bring about sustainable improvement. Ideally suited to Directors, Managers, Continuous Improvement facilitators, Six Sigma green/black belts and Change managers.

What is Kaizen?

One way in which permanent improvements can be brought about is by the use of small empowered group activities.  Kaizen makes uses of groups of people to make relatively small, but positive changes within their own area of expertise. At Aster, we refer to this as “doing 1000 things 1% better”.

At the conclusion of the Kaizen training course each delegate will be able to appreciate:-

• Where waste and non-value added activities can be found in an organisation
• The kaizen approach to incremental improvement
• The soft managerial skills required by managers to both implement and sustain a Kaizen culture
• How to prioritise areas for improvement and generate improvement metrics – KPIs

• Introduction
• Understanding the origins of Kaizen
• Making waste visible – Basically identifying the non value added activities in your organisation
• Examples of lean tools to be used to support kaizen events such as 5S and Value Stream Mapping
• Three Kaizen approaches – Just Do its, Kaizen Events (PDCA) and Kaizen Blitz
• Root Cause Analysis – Ishikawa (Cause & Effect) and 5 Whys
• How to successfully implement a Kaizen culture?
• How to structure a Kaizen team?
• MBWA – The Gemba Walk
• The Task Board
• Sustaining a Kaizen Culture
