Problem Solving Training Course

This one day problem solving training course utilises case studies to demonstrate how the use of problem solving techniques can bring about solutions to problems found in administrative, manufacturing, service and other business areas. As a result, this makes this course is ideally suited to personnel of all levels from both the public and private sector. No previous knowledge of these tools & techniques is required. This is an interactive course and will require delegates to actively participate throughout.

What you will learn

At the conclusion of the course each delegate will be able to:

  • Use a structured practical approach to problem solving
  • Recognise a number of ‘visual’ ways of data presentation
  • Apply a standard method to determine appropriate counter-measures & solutions
  • Utilise the strength of the ‘team’ to determine the best solution

Course Content

The training course covers the following topics:

  • Introduction
  • A practical problem solving exercise – Case Study
  • 8D or DMAIC? – What are the Differences?
  • Including Ishikawa – Fishbone Diagrams, Cause & Effect
  • Data Collection and Presentation
  • Histograms, Pareto & Measles Charts
  • Value Stream Mapping – Basic Overview
  • Including 5 Whys and PDCA Cycle
  • Kaizen Blitz
  • Course Review

This course uses practical interactive sessions where delegates can work in groups to identify possible solutions to problems presented to them through case studies.

Cost: £295 plus vat per delegate. Courses are limited to a maximum of twelve delegates. Course costs cover the training sessions, a comprehensive set of course notes and an attendance certificate.

Costs are exclusive of VAT which is chargeable at the current rate. Prices are correct at the time of publishing, but may be varied in line with market conditions from time to time.
