HR for Line Managers Training Course

This one day HR for line Managers training course has been designed specifically for those staff who are non-personnel specialists. Suitable for managers who have people management responsibilities, this course provides a practical overview of the legislative framework affecting the management of people across a variety of contexts such as recruitment and selection, performance appraisal, discipline & grievance and termination of employment.

  • Understand the impact of relevant legislation in the workplace
  • Contribute effectively to a recruitment & selection campaign
  • Undertake and manage as an-ongoing responsibility, the control, discipline and motivation of employees
  • Understand the need for accurate records
  • Distinguish between unfair, fair and constructive dismissal

The HR for line Managers training course covers the following topics:-

  • HR roles & responsibilities
  • Case Study – the rights of employers & employees
  • The importance of the contract of employment
  • Practical exercise – attracting candidates & effective recruitment
  • Practical exercise – setting standards
  • How to establish an effective, constructive relationship
  • How to conduct a discipline interview
  • Practical exercise – handling grievances
  • Termination – staying within the law
  • Developing individual action plans, goals and performance targets
  • Action planning

The HR for Line Managers training course is limited to a maximum of twelve delegates. Cost: £295 plus vat per delegate. Course costs cover the training workshop, a set of comprehensive course notes, lunch, refreshments and an attendance certificate.
